A player-led movement, Cricket for Climate was founded in 2021 by Australian Men’s Cricket Test and ODI Captain Pat Cummins – in collaboration with other players.
We’re a small and passionate team of people that want to create a better future. We rely on connecting and working with others that share our values.
Cricket for Climate is building a groundswell with others through practical impact that is visible and inspires action from all.
Playing cricket in record-setting conditions raised the alarm about climate change for Cricket for Climate founder Pat Cummins. He was on the field in record-breaking heat in 2018 when England captain Joe Root suffered from dehydration. And again in 2019 when bushfire smoke made it difficult for players to breathe. Since then, he’s been collaborating with players and partners to ensure future generations will still be playing cricket.
Pat sits on the Board of the Australian Cricketers’ Association and lives on the lands of the Bidjigal and Gadigal peoples.
